App Builder in 2025: A Year of AI and Platform Growth
Throughout 2025, App Builder continued to evolve as a practical, production-ready low-code platform shaped by real customer needs and a growing focus on AI-assisted development.
Alongside the UI components powered by Ignite UI, we pushed forward with improvements aimed at helping teams build, scale, and maintain applications faster and with greater confidence.

This year, we delivered more than ten major capabilities and platform enhancements, each designed to reduce friction in common development workflows and improve overall app quality, we will go thorugh each of them in a bit. As the low-code space increasingly shifts toward AI-driven experiences, one of the most important milestones for App Builder was the introduction of AI Chat bringing contextual, conversational assistance directly into the app-building process.
Rather than treating AI as a standalone feature, our goal throughout 2025 was to integrate it where it makes the most impact: helping users move faster, make better decisions, and reduce repetitive effort.
Reflecting on the Year
2025 was defined by steady progress. Across nine major releases, we focused on delivering value incrementally expanding App Builder’s capabilities while keeping the platform predictable and extensible for both low-code and pro-code teams.
As we look ahead, our direction remains clear:
- Deeper AI-driven workflows
- Stronger alignment between design-time and runtime experiences
All with the same goal: empowering development teams and business leaders to deliver applications that support real business growth.
